" Lending A Hand to Keep Familes Together "

Welcome to Parenting 2nd Time Around, we are delighted that you have stopped by to visit with us.  We have had so many grandparents asking the question were we ever going to get a website?  With launching of this website we hope that grandparents and other relatives will find this site helpful.

Being a grandparent is such a vital role many families simply couldn't function without grandparent support, yet so often this role is undervalued and overlooked, grandparents play an important role in the family.

Life throws us lots of challenges for the grandparents it's a bigger challenge when the grandparents are thrust into rearing children all over again.  The challenge comes because times have changed and the energy have ebbed.  The reason for this thrust varies such as; dealing with new or step grandchildren, or keeping in touch with grandchildren who have moved away through job relocation, family break-up, death of a parent(s) a parent incarcerated or just keeping up with them altogether is a challenge.

We offer is site as encouragement and support to all who's "lending a helping hand" again you're welcome  to visit with us.  It will be great to get feedback from grandparents and other relatives who are "lending a helping hand" to see this site grow and grow.

Please Note

More than nine million children in America, almost 90% living in working households and a majority in two-parent families, are still uninsured. Millions more are underinsured. This is an outrage in the richest nation on earth.

On January 4, 2007, the Speaker of the House convened the House of Representatives for the 110th Congress with these words, "For all of America's children, the House will be in order." Since then, more than 2,100 babies will be born each day (one every 41 seconds) without health insurance. This must be stopped. Children cannot wait.

Join us in calling on Congress to truly make this a Congress "for all of America's children" by enacting the All Healthy Children Act (S. 1564/HR 1688) to ensure every child and pregnant woman has access to affordable, seamless, comprehensive health coverage and services.
